Group Exec
The Group Executive Committee always welcome new members. The Committee form a large part of the administration for the running of the Group as a whole. The committee is made up of parents from all the sections and is headed by a Group Chariman. We have for a while, however, relied on Ian Carver to act as our Vice Chairman since the untimely passing of our chairman, Ron Kerr. We also have a Group Treasurer and Group Secretary as well as the committee members. We also have the input of our Group Scout Leader as well as Leaders from the other sections. One of the main functions of the Executive is to raise funds through activities such as the curry night, quiz and race nights, christmas bazaar and any other activities throughout the year. These funds enable the Group to run and maintain the Headquarters and boating facility, to purchase new equipment and, when necessary, to assist the Sections in keeping down costs that would otherwise be passed on to the parents.
If you think you would like to join the committee or can offer help with any of the fund raising activities please do not be shy in coming forward. We are friendly and would welcome newcomers to bring someting fresh to the table. You may have some ideas about fundraising that the Committee haven’t tapped into, so why not share them.
